Bob originally conceived of, created, and financed RunSignUp. He has had a long career in technology, and in 1994 began focusing on Internet middleware-the stuff that makes website work-at companies like Blue-stone (IPO in 1999 and acquired by HP in 2000), JBoss (acquired by Red Hat in 2006), and various other companies.
A runner since high school, Bob ran competitively through his years at Bucknell University, and returned to his running roots in 2003 when he began to volunteer as an Assistant Coach for the Moorestown High School Track and Cross Country Teams. In 2006 he opened the Moorestown Running Company with Dave Welsh and Joe Halin. Additionally, Bob helps direct several charity races in the area, and helped create a home Cross Country course for the Moorestown High School by building a system of wood chip trails.
Bob first conceptualized RunSignUp in 2006 while busy with other ventures. In 2009, he brought on Stephen Sigwart to help develop the site, and Bob has spent the last few years building the RunSignUp team and technology to meet the needs of the running community.
